Hard walking tonite. Very hard walking against the wind, had to strategically plan the entire trip…. to make it 2 miles, I had to walk with …the wind against my back going up the hills! lol

CLUE: Finding Belinda’s New Body-Strategize so I won’t quit or get hurt in the process!

Going up hill takes a bit more time, but I like the resistance!   Wind in my face takes more energy, but I like it!  HOWEVER, both together was a bit much today for me, so I planned out the walk and did great.

Loving the walks with my sons in the evenings; bringing us closer as we chit chat about the day!
We spend most of the day homeschooling and then I am busy with businesses.  As teenagers grow up sometimes they grow ‘away’ from parents, which I know is a part of growing up so these evenings with each one individually is awesome and we spend quality time with each other.  CLUE to Finding Belinda’s New Body:  Family time…YHWH first, then family!

DAY 52 – What do you do?

On dreary days…. you get NOODLES! lol  CLUE: Finding Belinda’s New Body….. only eat half!  Yup, it is getting easier and easier to control the portions.  I ate half the noodles!  I used to ask the grill masters to just give me half but now I can overcome temptation!

Adding the sliced beef and BBQ sauce was delish! I ate at lunch time but came back at night to visit with GG fans.  I met THE most adorable little girl who was all dressed up in a precious dance dress and she loves to dance!  Check out GG facebook page Wednesday – March 30th for the video…. so precious!

There was another LARGE youth group with THE most amazing counselor.  She really got my attention, she is a VERY special person.  If all youth had a person like her, there would be NO juv problems and every child would live with the confidence that they really do have someone that REALLY cares about them.  I would love to know more about her and her group.

It was BIRTHDAY time for BALTAZAR – 30 years old today , been with GG about 8 years, our most famous BACK OF THE HOUSE guy!  Wishing you MANY MANY more Baltazar!

It is about time to get home…. tomorrow is another day!

CLUE for Finding Belinda’s New Body:  Watch for the hidden dangers of artificial High Fructose Corn Syrup that leads to belly fat and obesity.  It can be hidden in sauces and meat!

Today was another chilly day here in Big D but I absolutely luv it!  Walking is so much easier when it is cooler for me anyway!  Tonight, my youngest, who is having growing pains in his joints, sat and watched as I walked fast up and down the street, up and down the hill!  I walked faster tonight than ever and finally got out of breath the last leg of the walk.  This is definately getting easier!

I want to briefly finish discussing something that I covered previously and that is high fructose corn syrup. If you are trying to lost weight, you have to ditch the HFCS.  FINALLY…. in February, Princeton came out with their study.  The natural health community has been screaming this for years.

Here is a post  that I read today about the subject and it covers all that I teach!  No need to rewrite the book…..

You’re not still drinking soft drinks or eating junk food that contains high fructose corn syrup, are you? If you are, new research has a word for you: sucker.

A study from Princeton published in the February issue of the journal Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Behavior (PDF) shows that high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), used as a cheap sweetener in everything from Coke to Progresso soup, is not the same as table sugar, namely for the way that it makes you gain 48% more weight.

Over 6 months, one group of rats was fed rat chow sweetened with HFCS and another just regular rat chow. The group consuming HFCS showed signed of obesity, like unusual weight gain, and big increases in triglycerides and fat deposits in the belly. Overall they rats on HFCS gained 48% more weight than those on a regular diet.

In an earlier study, the researchers gave one group of rats access to water sweetened with table sugar and another, water sweetened with HFCS. The rats on HFCS gained much more weight than the others. The concentration in the table sugar formula was the same as what is found in some soft drinks, while the HFCS was only half as concentrated as most soda pops.

“Some people have claimed that high-fructose corn syrup is no different than other sweeteners when it comes to weight gain and obesity, but our results make it clear that this just isn’t true, at least under the conditions of our tests,” said psychology professor Bart Hoebel. “When rats are drinking high-fructose corn syrup at levels well below those in soda pop, they’re becoming obese — every single one, across the board. Even when rats are fed a high-fat diet, you don’t see this; they don’t all gain extra weight.”

Since HFCS was introduced into the American food supply as a cost-effective sweetener, the population’s obesity rate has shot up from 15% in 1970 to nearly 33% today.

Well….. the bottom line I suppose is cost/$$$ in the industry.  I have NEVER seen a skinny person drinking a diet Coke!  READ your labels!  Put nothing in your cart that says HFCS.  They are getting sneaky now that this stuff is coming out, they are renaming it.  .  .  be informed… keep informed!

If you are wanting to lose weight, you have to be very choosy what goes into your mouth.  Genghis grill is a good place to eat a healthy meal – go online before you go and research the products and produce;  choose a healthier sauce; better starch.  Europe has banned the mess.  When will the US follow suit?  Hmmmm maybe never!

DAY 49

DAY 49 – Hard to believe!

CLUE to Finding Belinda’s New Body… Reading the labels/No compromise!

It was a dreary & chilly day here in Dallas, the   perfect day for  tomato soup and cheese toast.  None of the ingredients to make this was in my kitchen.  When I picked up my son from camping trip, we ran around the corner to purchase a few things!

The walmart shopping lot was packed as was Krogers. Across the street was Aldi’s.  The only two times I have tried to shop there, I left disappointed. Almost everything in the store has high fructose corn syrup….it is so weird.  This mess really plays havoc on your pancreas and sugar! I refuse to purchase any product with it!

Today, I was going to just run in and see if they carried tomato soup without HFCS or msg.  Well, they didn’t but what I did find was a large can of tomatoes from Canada with nothing but tomato puree.  I am not a regular advocate of tomatoes in can, but today we didn’t have many choices!!!!

I purchased a can of tomatoes, found a loaf of wheat/quinoh whole grain bread without HFCS…I was shocked actually and a pack of real cheddar slices with no colored dyes or junk!

At home, I sauteed a whole chopped onion down in olive oil, low heat setting until the onion was very brown.  I had 3 beef sausage pieces, no chemicals so I added that to the skillet for flavor.  About 3/4 cup of water was added.  That simmered 30 minutes, water was added once.  After the 30 minutes, 1 cup milk was added and simmered another 10 minutes, then I
added a pack of stevia crystals to sweeten it up a litte.  The cheese toast was broiled a few minutes.

I did not eat any, but both sons feasted on homemade tomato soup=no high fructose corn syrup or msg!

We could have had a chemical laden meal…. but because I read every label before it goes into my basket, they were able to enjoy a healthy meal from almost scratch!…even though the tomatoes were canned!

I ran  to GG and fixed a very nice turkey/noodle/veggie bowl; limited my portion and was very satisfied!

Luke and I walked a mile and got to chit chat about the day.  I am really enjoying our walks.

Enzymes = life.  I have said it before, we get our energy from the energy in food.  The more colorful, the more minerals.  The more minerals, the more nutrition.  The more nutrition, the healthier you are.
Now, there are some people who cannot eat raw food.  The sicker you are, the weaker your liver and your veggies must be lightly steamed or juiced.
If your digestion is strong and you chew the food well, the digestive juices can pull the nutrients out of the structure of the veggie and raw veggies work great for you !  Try to eat something raw each and every day so that you get the live enzymes into your body.
If you do have bad health, and perhaps it has been like that for a long time, the digestive enzymes are not the right strength to get the energy out of raw foods.  Cooking predigests the food and makes the minerals and vitamins accessible to your weaker digestion.
I also recomment digestive enzymes to my clients whether eating raw or cooked, especially if you have had your gall bladder out or are over 30 years old and eat only cooked food!
Everyone would benefit from raw green vegetable juices, the weaker person may need to dilute with some distilled water.
I like Genghis Grill and the way that they cut their veggies, they cook fast and can retain their color and still be a little crisp, especially if you ask the grill masters to do so!
Ok here is a little bit of nutrition science for those interested!
We all have heard about the mineral depletion in our Midwestern farmland.  Recent studies show that the use of N-P-K fertilizers increased and the mineral levels dropped 68%.  What that means to us is that a higher level of acid-treated phosphates used on the land made a decrease of colloid minerals=when this happens, and the produce is eaten RAW, it has a low colloid phosphate and a high level of non-colloid phosphates.  These non colloid phosphates are NOT utilized very well by our bodies, most is DUMPED INTO OUR URINE! This then contributes to water imbalances OR body dehydration.
SO….. I have learned and teach that we must cook the regular commercially grown produce instead of eating it raw.  When you cook it, the non-collodial phosphate is released so that your body does not have to be stressed out by releasing it thru your urine.
All that to say, it is ok to have GG grill your veggies!!!! Lightly!!!!
Then you can eat a raw organic greens salad for supper OR juice your organic veggies like I do in my blender!
Hope you have learned a little bit about organic vs non organic/ raw vs cooked.
As we come out of hibernation and spring into Spring, our gardens will soon be offering the best of the best!  Make wise choices and THRIVE !
